Ulf Kristersson

Ulf Kristersson, born on December twenty-ninth, nineteen sixty-three, is a prominent Swedish politician who has been serving as the Prime Minister of Sweden since two thousand twenty-two. He has held the position of Leader of the Moderate Party since two thousand seventeen, showcasing his significant influence in Swedish politics.

Kristersson's political career began in earnest when he became a Member of the Riksdag for Södermanland County in two thousand fourteen, after previously representing Stockholm County from nineteen ninety-one to two thousand. His experience includes serving as Minister for Social Security from two thousand ten to two thousand fourteen and leading the Moderate Youth League from nineteen eighty-eight to nineteen ninety-two.

In December two thousand fourteen, he was appointed as the shadow Finance Minister and economic policy spokesperson for the Moderate Party. His leadership saw the party open up to the Sweden Democrats, forming an informal right-wing coalition with them and two other centre-right parties by late twenty twenty-one. This coalition, organized under the Tidö Agreement, secured a majority in the Riksdag during the two thousand twenty-two Swedish general election, culminating in Kristersson's election as Prime Minister on October seventeenth.

As Prime Minister, Kristersson has overseen Sweden's accession to NATO and initiated the largest rearmament of the Swedish Armed Forces since the Cold War. His administration has also taken significant steps regarding migration to Sweden, reflecting his commitment to addressing key national issues.
