Ümit Özdağ, born on March third, nineteen sixty-one, is a prominent Turkish politician, university teacher, and author. He has made significant contributions to Turkish politics, particularly as the founder and leader of the Victory Party, a right-wing anti-immigrant political movement established on August twenty-six, twenty-one. His leadership journey has been marked by both challenges and triumphs, including his return to the party leadership after being released from prison on June seventeenth, twenty-five.
Before founding the Victory Party, Özdağ held various positions within the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). He served as the deputy leader from November twenty-fifteen to February twenty-sixteen and made multiple attempts to lead the party, including candidacies for the MHP leadership in two thousand six and April twenty-sixteen. However, his political career faced hurdles, including the revocation of his party membership by the MHP High Disciplinary Board in November twenty-sixteen.
Following his departure from the MHP, Özdağ joined the Good Party, where he remained active until his dismissal in November twenty-twenty. His political ideology and commitment to right-wing principles ultimately led him to establish the Victory Party, where he was elected as the first chairman. Özdağ's political narrative is characterized by his staunch anti-immigrant stance and his dedication to reshaping Turkish politics.
