Urijah Faber

Urijah Faber, born on May 14, 1979, is a distinguished American former mixed martial artist and actor, celebrated for his contributions to the sport. Competing primarily in the bantamweight and featherweight divisions, Faber made a significant impact in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and the World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC). He is notably a former WEC featherweight champion and has challenged for the UFC Bantamweight Championship on three occasions.

Faber's journey in combat sports began with his background as an NCAA wrestler, which laid the foundation for his fighting career. He later incorporated Brazilian jiu-jitsu into his skill set, earning a brown belt under the esteemed Fábio "Pateta" Prado. His tenacity and skill were on full display when he won the WEC featherweight championship at WEC 19 on March 17, 2006, a title he held for over two and a half years before losing it to Mike Brown.
