Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Uthong

Uthong, known historically as King Ramathibodi I, was born in the year 1314 and would go on to become a pivotal figure in Thai history. He was the first monarch of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, reigning from 1351 until his death in 1369. His ascension marked the beginning of a new era in the region, establishing a dynasty that would shape the cultural and political landscape of Thailand.

As the son of Baramaraja, a mixed Mon–Chinese ruler, and Sunandhadevī, a princess of the Suvarnaraja court, Uthong's lineage was rich and diverse. Originally titled Varashreṣṭhakumāra, he succeeded his father as king of Xiān in 1344. His maternal heritage can be traced back to the Dvaravati period, linking him to a significant historical lineage that influenced his reign.

In 1351, Uthong was formally enthroned as the founding king of Ayutthaya, a city that would become a major center of trade and culture in Southeast Asia. His leadership not only solidified his family's power but also laid the groundwork for the flourishing of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, which would last for centuries.
