Vakhtang Chabukiani

Vakhtang Chabukiani, born on February twenty-seventh, nineteen ten, was a prominent Soviet and Georgian ballet dancer, choreographer, and teacher. Renowned for his exceptional talent, he is celebrated as one of the most influential male ballet dancers of the twentieth century. His contributions to the art form include the creation of iconic choreography for several renowned male variations within the classical ballet repertoire, such as those found in 'Le Corsaire', 'La Bayadère', and 'Swan Lake'.

Chabukiani's legacy is further solidified by his collaboration with Vladimir Ponomaryov in the nineteen forty-one revival of 'La Bayadère' for the Kirov Ballet. This revival not only remains a staple in the company's repertoire but has also inspired numerous subsequent productions both in Russia and internationally.
