Vakhtang IV, born in the year fourteen thirteen, was a notable figure of the Bagrationi dynasty and served as king (mepe) of the Kingdom of Georgia. His reign began in fourteen thirty-three, when he ascended the throne alongside his father, Alexander I, and continued until his untimely death in December fourteen forty-six.
During his rule, Vakhtang IV shared the throne with his three brothers, navigating the complexities of a kingdom that was beginning to fragment. His reign was marked by significant challenges, including a Turkoman invasion that threatened the stability of the region.
Despite his royal lineage, Vakhtang IV's control over the kingdom was limited, as he governed only parts of Georgia. His time on the throne coincided with a pivotal moment in Georgian history, witnessing the gradual disintegration of the once-unified realm into smaller states.
