Valdis Dombrovskis

Valdis Dombrovskis, born on August fifth, nineteen seventy-one, is a prominent Latvian politician and economist, currently serving as the European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, as well as the Commissioner for Implementation and Simplification. His extensive career in European politics has seen him hold several significant positions, including Executive Vice President of the European Commission for An Economy that Works for People from two thousand nineteen to two thousand twenty-four.

Before his current role, Dombrovskis was the European Commissioner for Trade from two thousand twenty to two thousand twenty-four and served as the European Commissioner for Financial Stability, Financial Services, and Capital Markets Union from two thousand sixteen to two thousand twenty. His political journey began in Latvia, where he was the Prime Minister from two thousand nine until his resignation in two thousand fourteen, following a successful tenure that included his role as Minister for Finance from two thousand two to two thousand four.

In addition to his national roles, Dombrovskis was a Member of the European Parliament for the New Era Party from two thousand four to two thousand nine.
