Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Valentine Strasser

Valentine Strasser, born on April twenty-sixth, nineteen sixty-seven, is a notable figure in Sierra Leone's political history. He emerged as the world's youngest head of state in nineteen ninety-two, seizing power just three days after his twenty-fifth birthday. Strasser's rise to prominence began in the neighborhood of Allen Town in Freetown, where he was raised by Creole parents.

After completing secondary school, Strasser enlisted in the Republic of Sierra Leone Military Forces at the age of eighteen. His military career took a decisive turn during the Sierra Leone Civil War, which erupted in nineteen ninety-one. In a bold move, he led a coup d'état in nineteen ninety-two that overthrew President Joseph Saidu Momoh, subsequently establishing the National Provisional Ruling Council, a military junta.

During his tenure, Strasser faced the challenges of a nation embroiled in conflict. He made the controversial decision to hire Executive Outcomes, a South African mercenary firm, to combat the Revolutionary United Front rebel group. However, after nearly four years in power, Strasser was ousted in a second military coup in nineteen ninety-six, led by his deputy, Brigadier General Julius Maada Bio.

Following his overthrow, Strasser sought refuge in England, where he unsuccessfully applied for asylum. His attempts to find stability continued with an unsuccessful bid to enter The Gambia in two thousand, before ultimately returning to Sierra Leone.
