Valery Asapov

Valery Asapov, born on January first, nineteen sixty-six, was a distinguished Russian military leader who rose to the rank of Lieutenant General in the Russian Ground Forces. His career was marked by significant contributions to military operations, particularly during the tumultuous period of the Syrian Civil War.

Asapov's final assignment was as the chief of the group of Russian military advisers in Syria, where he played a crucial role in coordinating military efforts. His leadership and strategic acumen were vital during a time of intense conflict, as he worked alongside various military units to support Russian objectives in the region.

Tragically, on September twenty-third, two thousand seventeen, Asapov was killed in action by mortar fire from ISIL militants near Deir ez-Zor.
