Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Varg Vikernes

Born on February 11, 1973, in Fana, Bergen Municipality, Louis Cachet, better known as Varg Vikernes, emerged as a significant figure in the Norwegian black metal scene. He began his musical journey at the age of fourteen, forming his first band, Kalashnikov, which later became known as Uruk-Hai. By 1989, Vikernes had joined Old Funeral, where he contributed his guitar skills until 1991. His early work laid the foundation for his later success with Burzum, a project that would see him release five influential albums between 1992 and 1996.

Vikernes's life took a dark turn in 1994 when he was convicted of murder and arson, receiving a twenty-one-year prison sentence. He was released after serving fifteen years. The incident that led to his conviction involved the fatal stabbing of Mayhem guitarist Euronymous during a confrontation. Vikernes has consistently maintained that the act was in self-defense, although he faced serious legal repercussions for his actions.

During his time in prison, Vikernes did not remain idle; he founded the neo-Nazi organization Norwegian Heathen Front, published two books, and released two ambient albums under the Burzum name. After his release in 2009, he relocated to France with his family, where he continued to create music and write. His online presence grew as he became an active video blogger on YouTube, initially under the name ThuleanPerspective, before the channel was banned. In 2025, he returned to the platform as ThuleanReconquest and also began sharing content on TikTok as officialvarg14.

Vikernes's controversial views, which blend elements of Odinism and Esoteric Nazism, have made him a polarizing figure in the music world. He has been described as the most notorious metal musician of all time, and his beliefs, which he refers to as 'Odalism,' advocate for a pre-industrial European pagan society that opposes various modern ideologies, including capitalism and socialism. His legacy remains complex, marked by both his musical contributions and his criminal past.
