Vasily Stasov

Vasily Stasov, born on July twenty-fourth, seventeen sixty-nine, emerged as a prominent figure in Russian architecture. Hailing from a wealthy noble lineage, he was the son of Pyotr Fyodorovich Stasov, a descendant of one of the oldest aristocratic families in Russia, established in the year thirteen eighty-seven by the first Duke Stasov, Dmitri Vasilevich.

His mother, Anna Antipyevna, further enriched his noble heritage, coming from the distinguished Priklonsky family. This background not only provided him with the resources necessary for his education but also instilled in him a deep appreciation for the arts and architecture.
