Veli-Matti Lindström

Veli-Matti Lindström, born on November fifteenth, nineteen eighty-three, is a distinguished former ski jumper from Finland. His remarkable career is highlighted by a silver medal achievement at the 2002 Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City, where he excelled in the team large hill event.

In addition to his Olympic success, Lindström showcased his talent at the 2004 Ski Flying World Championships in Planica, where he secured another silver medal in the team event. His prowess in ski jumping was further demonstrated through his victories at the Ski Flying World Cup, clinching championships in the team event in both 2002 and 2003.

On March twenty-first, two thousand three, Lindström made history in Planica by becoming the first ski jumper to surpass the impressive distance of two hundred thirty meters, achieving a jump of two hundred thirty-two point five meters. Unfortunately, this remarkable feat was not recognized as a world record due to a minor infraction, as he touched the snow with his hand during the landing.
