Veronica Tennant

Veronica Tennant, born on January fifteenth, nineteen forty-six, in London, England, is a distinguished Canadian film producer, director, and filmmaker, as well as a celebrated former principal dancer of the National Ballet of Canada. In nineteen fifty-five, she relocated to Canada with her family, where her passion for dance blossomed from the tender age of four. By eighteen, she achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the youngest dancer to join the National Ballet of Canada.

Her illustrious career is marked by her debut as Juliet in the principal role of Romeo and Juliet, partnering with Earl Kraul under the choreography of John Cranko. Veronica's final performance as Juliet took place in February nineteen eighty-nine, culminating in a farewell gala that showcased excerpts from various ballets, including Giselle and The Taming of the Shrew, which featured a pas de deux she had never performed before.

Throughout her career, spanning from nineteen sixty-four to nineteen eighty-nine, Tennant became a prominent figure in the ballet world, touring North America, Europe, and Japan alongside luminaries such as Mikhail Baryshnikov and Rudolf Nureyev. She performed in numerous ballets by renowned choreographers and championed Canadian talent, leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Canada.

In addition to her dance career, Veronica authored two children's books and ventured into film production, creating documentaries that aired on major Canadian networks.
