Vic Lindquist

Vic Lindquist, born on March 22, 1908, in Gold Rock, Ontario, was a prominent Canadian ice hockey player and coach. His athletic prowess was showcased on the international stage when he competed in the 1932 Winter Olympics, where he played a pivotal role in leading the Winnipeg Hockey Club to a gold medal victory. Over the course of five matches, Lindquist demonstrated his scoring ability by netting three goals, solidifying his place in the annals of Canadian sports history.

In recognition of his contributions to the sport, Lindquist was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 1997, a testament to his enduring legacy. Additionally, he was honored by his induction into the North Western Ontario Sports Hall of Fame, further highlighting his impact on ice hockey in Canada.

Beyond his playing career, Lindquist transitioned into coaching, taking the helm of the Swedish national team during the 1936 Winter Olympics. His expertise and leadership were also acknowledged when he was nominated by Jack Roxburgh, the president of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association, to serve as a referee at the 1962 Ice Hockey World Championships.
