Vic Seixas

Elias Victor Seixas Jr., born on October 30, 1923, was a prominent American tennis player whose career spanned from the early 1940s to the mid-1950s. Renowned for his exceptional skills on the court, Seixas achieved remarkable rankings, finding himself in the top ten in the U.S. on thirteen occasions between nineteen forty-two and nineteen fifty-six. His peak came in nineteen fifty-one when he was ranked as the number four amateur in the world, while simultaneously holding the number one spot in the U.S., just ahead of fellow player Dick Savitt.

Seixas's prowess was further highlighted in nineteen fifty-three when he was recognized as the number three player globally by Lance Tingay. His talent was undeniable, and in nineteen fifty-four, he was named the top amateur by the esteemed coach Harry Hopman. Throughout his illustrious career, Seixas secured a total of fifteen Major championships, showcasing his versatility and competitiveness in both singles and doubles formats.

Among his most significant achievements, Seixas won both Wimbledon and the US Open in singles. His doubles success included victories at the Australian Open, French Open (twice), and US Open (twice), while in mixed doubles, he triumphed at the French Open, Wimbledon (four times), and the US Open (three times).
