Victor Davis Hanson

Victor Davis Hanson, born on September fifth, nineteen fifty-three, is a distinguished American classicist and military historian. Renowned for his insightful commentary on both ancient and modern warfare, he has made significant contributions to contemporary political discourse through various esteemed publications, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the National Review.

As a professor emeritus of classics at California State University, Fresno, Hanson has dedicated much of his career to academia. He also holds the position of Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow in classics and military history at the Hoover Institution and serves as a visiting professor at Hillsdale College, where he continues to inspire students and scholars alike.

In recognition of his impactful work, Hanson was awarded the National Humanities Medal in two thousand seven by President George W. Bush.
