Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen, born on December twenty-ninth, nineteen ninety-eight, is a prominent Nigerian professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Süper Lig club Galatasaray. He also serves as the vice-captain of the Nigeria national team and is widely recognized as one of the best strikers in the world, celebrated for his explosive pace, physical strength, aerial ability, and clinical finishing.

Osimhen's football journey began in Germany with VfL Wolfsburg in two thousand seventeen. After a season and a half, he was loaned to Belgian side Charleroi for the 2018–19 season. His remarkable performance in Ligue 1 with Lille, where he scored eighteen goals in a single season, caught the attention of major clubs.

In two thousand twenty, Osimhen made a significant move to Serie A side Napoli for a club-record fee of eighty million euros. He quickly made his mark, winning the Serie A Best Young Player award in the 2021–22 season. The following season, he became the league's top scorer with twenty-six goals, setting a record for an African player and helping Napoli secure their first Serie A title in thirty-three years. His outstanding contributions earned him the league's Best Striker award and the prestigious title of Serie A Footballer of the Year.

Osimhen's international career is equally impressive. He won the Golden Boot at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, contributing to Nigeria's victory. He made his senior debut in June 2017 and has participated in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019, 2023, and 2025, reaching the final in 2023. Currently, he stands as the second all-time highest goalscorer for the Nigeria national team.

He also made history by finishing eighth at the 2023 Ballon d'Or ceremony, becoming the first Nigerian to enter the top ten. Additionally, he was named the African Footballer of the Year at the 2023 CAF Awards, marking the first time a Nigerian has received this honor since Nwankwo Kanu in nineteen ninety-nine.
