Viktor Kozin

Viktor Kozin, born on February 22, 1953, is a distinguished Russian naval engineer and ship designer renowned for his innovative contributions to icebreaking technology. He is credited with developing the resonance method of ice destruction, a groundbreaking approach that has significantly advanced the field.

In 1994, Kozin earned his assistant professorship in technical sciences (PhD) for his research on the Mechanics of Deformable Solids at Vladivostok. His academic journey continued as he became a full professor in 1996, and in 2000, he was honored with the title of Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation, recognizing his exceptional contributions to engineering and invention.

Throughout his career, Kozin has been acknowledged for his expertise in watercraft statics and dynamics, vessel design, hydraulics, and hydromechanics. He has authored two textbooks in naval engineering and twelve significant works focused on educational methods in naval design, showcasing his commitment to advancing knowledge in his field.

In addition to his academic achievements, Kozin has received numerous accolades, including a diploma from the president of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1999 and grants from the Russian Ministry of Education in 2006. His involvement in the construction of the towing basin at Komsomolsk-on-Amur State Technical University further exemplifies his dedication to practical applications of his research.

Since 2008, Kozin has been a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS), solidifying his status as a leading figure in the scientific community.
