Vincent Aboubakar, born on January 22, 1992, is a distinguished Cameroonian professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Neftçi in the Azerbaijani Premier League. He also proudly serves as the captain of the Cameroon national team, showcasing his leadership on and off the pitch.
Aboubakar's football journey began at Coton Sport before he made the leap to Europe in 2010. His time in France saw him play for Ligue 1 clubs Valenciennes and Lorient, where he made a total of one hundred and nine appearances and netted twenty-six goals. In 2015, he joined Porto, further elevating his career with one hundred and twenty-five games and fifty-eight goals, including a Primeira Liga title to his name.
His career has also included a successful loan spell at Beşiktaş, where he won the Turkish Süper Lig twice, first in 2017 and again in 2021. Aboubakar's international career is equally impressive; he has earned over one hundred and ten caps for Cameroon since his debut in May 2010, making him the second-highest scorer in the national team's history, trailing only behind the legendary Samuel Eto'o.
