Vincent Auriol

He is best remembered for his tenure as the first President of France under the Fourth Republic, serving from nineteen forty-seven to nineteen fifty-four.

His early involvement in government included key positions such as Minister of Finance from nineteen thirty-six to nineteen thirty-seven and Minister of Justice from nineteen thirty-seven to nineteen thirty-eight, during which he contributed to the governance of France under the Third Republic.

His presidency was marked by significant events, including the Indochina War and the implementation of the Monnet Plan, which aimed at modernizing the French economy.
