Dupuis's career in public service began when he became the registrar of Laprairie County and was appointed King's Counsel. His political journey took flight when he was first elected to the House of Commons of Canada representing the Laprairie—Napierville riding in a by-election on July twenty-second, nineteen twenty-nine. He successfully secured re-election in the subsequent election of nineteen thirty.

In nineteen thirty-three, when his riding was disbanded, Dupuis transitioned to represent Chambly—Rouville, winning the election in nineteen thirty-five. His commitment to public service was evident as he was re-elected for one final term in the House of Commons in nineteen forty.

In nineteen forty-five, Dupuis's contributions were recognized with an appointment to the Senate, a position he held until his passing on May eleventh, nineteen sixty-seven. Additionally, from nineteen twenty-eight to nineteen thirty, he served as a municipal councillor in Laprairie, further solidifying his dedication to his community.
