Vision Eternel

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Vision Eternel

Vision Eternel, a Canadian-American ambient rock band, was founded in January 2007 by guitarist Alexander Julien in Edison, New Jersey. The group made a significant move to Montreal, Quebec, Canada in July of the same year, where they began to develop their unique sound. Critics have described their primarily instrumental music as a rich tapestry woven from various genres, including ambient, shoegaze, post-rock, and even elements of post-black metal and modern classical.

The band's journey began with the release of their debut extended play, Seul dans l'obsession, in 2007, followed by Un automne en solitude in 2008, both released through Mortification Records. Initially, the lineup included second guitarist Philip Altobelli, who left before the second EP was recorded. After relocating to Quebec, Vision Eternel expanded its roster with guitarists Nidal Mourad and Adam Kennedy, who also departed prior to the recording of their third release.

In 2009, the band saw the release of a compilation album titled An Anthology of Past Misfortunes, which featured their first two extended plays and was distributed by Frozen Veins Records in Japan. Following a signing with Abridged Pause Recordings, Vision Eternel produced three more extended plays: Abondance de périls in 2010, The Last Great Torch Song in 2012, and Echoes from Forgotten Hearts in 2015, the latter originally composed as a film score.

In 2018, the band’s entire output from 2007 to 2015 was remastered and compiled into a box set, An Anthology of Past Misfortunes, which included previously unreleased demos and b-sides. Their sixth extended play, For Farewell of Nostalgia, was co-released in 2020 by Somewherecold Records, Geertruida, and Abridged Pause Recordings. The journey continued with a deluxe edition of Echoes from Forgotten Hearts set to be released in 2024, featuring unreleased soundtrack versions and a non-fiction novel detailing the creative process behind the album.
