Vivek Shraya

Vivek Shraya, born in 1981, is a multifaceted Canadian artist known for her contributions as a musician, writer, and visual artist. With a remarkable career that spans various creative fields, she has established herself as a significant voice in contemporary art and literature.

As a seven-time Lambda Literary Award finalist, Shraya's work resonates deeply within the LGBTQ community and beyond. Her recognition as a Great Canadian Filmmaker of the Future by CBC Arts underscores her innovative approach to storytelling, particularly through her web series, How to Fail as a Popstar, which premiered in 2023 on CBC Gem.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Shraya is committed to fostering new talent within the BIPOC community. She founded the award-winning publishing imprint VS. Books, which provides mentorship and publishing opportunities for emerging writers, ensuring diverse voices are heard and celebrated.
