Vjosa Osmani

Vjosa Osmani, born on May seventeenth, nineteen eighty-two, is a prominent Kosovar jurist and politician who has made significant strides in her country's political landscape. Raised in Titova Mitrovica, SFR Yugoslavia, now known as Kosovo, she pursued her legal education at the University of Pristina and furthered her studies at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Osmani's political career began as an advisor to the former president of Kosovo, Fatmir Sejdiu, before she was elected to the Assembly. Her leadership skills were recognized when she served as the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo from February twenty twenty to March twenty twenty-one. Following the resignation of President Hashim Thaçi, she took on the role of acting president, showcasing her capability to lead during transitional periods.

On April fourth, twenty twenty-one, Osmani was elected as the President of Kosovo, making her the second woman to hold this esteemed position. Notably, she is the first individual to have served both as acting president and president of Kosovo. Her election was marked by a strong anti-corruption platform, reflecting her commitment to reform and governance.

Throughout her presidency, Osmani has expressed a keen interest in normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia, aiming to foster peace and cooperation in the region.
