Vlad Chiricheș

Vlad Chiricheș, born on November 14, 1989, is a distinguished Romanian professional footballer currently playing for Liga I club FCSB. Known for his versatility on the field, he primarily operates as a centre-back but is also adept at playing as a right-back or a defensive midfielder.

Chiricheș began his senior career in Romania, showcasing his talent with clubs such as Internațional Curtea de Argeș, Pandurii Târgu Jiu, and Steaua București. His time at Steaua was particularly notable, as he contributed to the team's success in securing a Liga I title and a Supercupa României.

In 2013, he made headlines with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, marking a significant milestone as the first Romanian player to be sold for nine point five million euros, or eight point five million pounds. After two years in the Premier League, he transitioned to Italy, where he played for Serie A clubs Napoli, Sassuolo, and Cremonese over an impressive span of eight seasons.

In 2023, Chiricheș made a triumphant return to Romania, re-signing with FCSB. On the international stage, he has been a full representative for Romania since September 2011, earning over seventy caps and proudly representing his country in the UEFA Euro 2016.
