Vlad Filat

Vlad Filat, born on May 6, 1969, is a prominent Moldovan entrepreneur and politician, best known for founding the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova. His political career reached a significant milestone when he served as the Prime Minister of Moldova from September 25, 2009, to April 25, 2013.

In addition to his role as Prime Minister, Filat briefly held the position of interim president of Moldova in 2010, showcasing his influence in the country's political landscape. His leadership was marked by efforts to steer Moldova towards European integration and reform.

However, Filat's career faced a turning point when he was convicted on charges of accepting bribes. This conviction led to a prison sentence, from which he was released in December 2019, six years earlier than initially expected, allowing him to re-enter public life.
