Vlastimil Petržela

Vlastimil Petržela, born on July twentieth, nineteen fifty-three, is a distinguished Czech football coach and former player. His career as a player reached a notable peak when he represented Czechoslovakia in the 1982 FIFA World Cup, where he made a substitute appearance against Kuwait.

Transitioning into coaching, Petržela took the helm at FK Mladá Boleslav in two thousand two, signing a three-year contract. However, his journey soon led him to Russia, where he became the manager of Zenit Saint Petersburg later that year. During his tenure from two thousand three to two thousand six, he guided the team to silver medals in the Russian Premier League and achieved a commendable quarterfinal finish in the 2005–06 UEFA Cup.

Before his time at Zenit, he managed prominent Czech clubs such as Sparta Prague and Bohemians Prague. After leaving Zenit, he continued his coaching career with Sigma Olomouc in the 2006/2007 season and took charge of Neftchi Baku in the summer of two thousand seven, although his stint there was cut short when he was dismissed in January two thousand eight.

Petržela's coaching journey continued as he led FK Viktoria Žižkov in the Czech 2. Liga during the 2009/10 season and later took on the role of head coach at MFK Zemplín Michalovce in the Slovak 2. liga for the 2010/11 season. In January two thousand fourteen, he joined Vlašim, further solidifying his legacy in Czech football.
