W. Grant McMurray

W. Grant McMurray, born on July 12, 1947, is a distinguished American religious leader and writer, known for his pivotal role in the Community of Christ. His leadership journey began in 1996 when he became the Prophet-President of the church, a position he held until 2004. This marked a significant moment in the church's history, as he was the first individual not descended from Joseph Smith to lead the denomination.

Notably, under his guidance, the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly referred to as the RLDS Church, underwent a significant rebranding, adopting the name Community of Christ.
