W. J. Coffee

W. J. Coffee, born in 1774, was a distinguished English artist and sculptor renowned for his exquisite work in porcelain, plaster, and terra cotta. Although he dabbled in oil painting, it was his sculptural creations that truly defined his artistic legacy.

His artistic journey began as a modeller for the esteemed William Duesbury at the china factory located on Nottingham Road in Derby, England. This early experience honed his skills and laid the foundation for his future endeavors in the world of sculpture.

In the latter part of his life, W. J. Coffee made a significant transition, relocating to America. This move marked a new chapter in his career, allowing him to explore and expand his artistic horizons in a different cultural landscape.
