Wael Ghonim

Wael Ghonim, born on December twenty-third, nineteen eighty, is a prominent computer scientist and politician known for his impactful role as an Internet activist. His journey to international recognition began in two thousand eleven when he became a pivotal figure in the pro-democracy demonstrations in Egypt. Following an emotional interview after eleven days of secret incarceration by Egyptian police, Ghonim's story resonated globally, highlighting the struggles for freedom and justice in his homeland.

As one of the administrators of the influential Facebook page 'We are all Khaled Said', Ghonim played a crucial role in igniting the Egyptian Revolution of two thousand eleven. His efforts earned him a spot on Time magazine's prestigious 'Time 100' list of the most influential people in two thousand eleven, and he was recognized as one of the Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum in two thousand twelve.

In addition to his activism, Ghonim is an accomplished author, having penned 'Revolution 2.0: The power of people is greater than the people in power' in two thousand thirteen. His commitment to education and technology led him to establish Tahrir Academy in two thousand twelve, a non-governmental organization focused on fostering educational opportunities in Egypt.
