Wallace Hartley

Wallace Hartley, born on June second, eighteen seventy-eight, was an accomplished English violinist and bandleader. He is best remembered for his remarkable composure and leadership during one of history's most tragic maritime disasters.

As the conductor of the eight-member band aboard the RMS Titanic, Hartley and his ensemble played a series of musical pieces as the ship met its fateful end on April fifteenth, nineteen twelve.
