Walter Kitchen

Walter Kitchen, born on December eighteenth, nineteen twelve, was a distinguished Canadian ice hockey player whose athletic prowess was showcased on the international stage. He was a key member of the Port Arthur Bearcats, the team that proudly represented Canada at the 1936 Winter Olympics, where they secured a silver medal in ice hockey.

Beyond his achievements on the ice, Kitchen also made a name for himself in the equestrian world. As the owner of the horse Hail To Patsy, he celebrated a significant victory in nineteen sixty-nine by winning the prestigious Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs, further highlighting his diverse interests and talents.

In recognition of his contributions to sports, Walter Kitchen was inducted into the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in nineteen eighty-seven, honoring his legacy as a member of the Olympic team that brought pride to Canada.
