Wanda Panfil, born on January twenty-sixth, nineteen fifty-nine, is a distinguished former long-distance runner from Poland. She achieved remarkable success in her athletic career, most notably winning the world title in the women's marathon at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics held in Tokyo, Japan.
Throughout her career, Panfil represented Poland at the Summer Olympics on two occasions. In nineteen eighty-eight, she finished twenty-second with a time of two hours, thirty-four minutes, and thirty-five seconds. Four years later, in nineteen ninety-two, she again secured the twenty-second position, this time with a time of two hours, forty-seven minutes, and twenty-seven seconds.
Wanda's impressive marathon achievements include victories at prestigious events such as the London Marathon, Boston Marathon, New York City Marathon, and Nagoya Marathon. Her exceptional performances earned her the title of Polish Sportswoman of the Year in both nineteen ninety and nineteen ninety-one.
