Warad-Sin

Warad-Sin, a prominent king of the ancient Near East city-state of Larsa, ruled with a legacy that has been partially preserved through annals documenting his twelve-year reign. His lineage was notable; he was the son of Kudur-Mabuk, a powerful figure in Larsa, and his sister, En-ane-du, held the esteemed position of high priestess of the moon god in Ur.

During his reign, Warad-Sin demonstrated military prowess and strategic acumen. In the second year of his kingship, he undertook a significant campaign against Kazallu, successfully destroying its walls. This decisive action was followed by a victory over the army of Mutibal, which had occupied Larsa, further solidifying his control over the region.

Warad-Sin's reign is characterized by his efforts to maintain and expand the influence of Larsa, a city-state that played a crucial role in the ancient Near East.
