Wasim Sajjad, born on March thirtieth, nineteen forty-one, is a distinguished Pakistani conservative politician and lawyer. He has held the esteemed position of acting president of Pakistan during two non-consecutive terms and served as the Chairman of the Senate from nineteen eighty-eight to nineteen ninety-nine.

Hailing from Jalandhar in British India, Sajjad comes from a notable family; his father, Justice Sajjad Ahmad Jan, was a respected judge of the Supreme Court and later became the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan. His educational journey began at Army Burn Hall, followed by law studies at Punjab University in Lahore.

As a Rhodes Scholar, Sajjad furthered his education in Oxfordshire, where he earned a Bachelor of Civil Law and a graduate degree in Jurisprudence from Wadham College, Oxford, in nineteen sixty-seven. He was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple in nineteen sixty-eight, marking the beginning of his legal career.

Upon returning to Pakistan, Sajjad was admitted as a lawyer and took on an academic role at Punjab Law College, where he taught constitutional law from nineteen sixty-seven to nineteen seventy-seven. His contributions to both law and politics have left a significant mark on the landscape of Pakistan.
