Wendell Young, born on August 1, 1963, is a distinguished Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. His remarkable career is highlighted by an unprecedented achievement in the sport, as he is the only player in hockey history to have won all four major championships: the Memorial Cup, Calder Cup, Turner Cup, and Stanley Cup.
After an illustrious playing career, Wendell transitioned into a leadership role within the hockey community. He currently serves as the vice chairman and governor of the Chicago Wolves, a prominent team in the American Hockey League. His contributions to the team and the sport have been invaluable.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Wendell's jersey number one was retired by the Chicago Wolves during a ceremony at The Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, on December 1, 2001. This significant event marked the first time the Wolves had retired a number since their establishment in the International Hockey League in nineteen ninety-four.
