Wil Trapp, born on January 15, 1993, in Columbus, Ohio, is an accomplished American professional soccer player known for his role as a defensive midfielder. Currently, he plays for Major League Soccer club Minnesota United, showcasing his skills and leadership on the field.
Trapp's soccer journey began at Lincoln High School, where he distinguished himself as the 2010 NSCAA National High School Player of the Year. He further honed his talents during two years at the University of Akron before signing with Columbus Crew SC as a Homegrown Player, marking a significant milestone as the fourth in the club's history.
His leadership qualities shone through when he was appointed captain of Crew SC, first donning the armband on May 17, 2014, and later being named the permanent captain ahead of the 2017 season.
