Many of his offspring achieved national recognition, including the renowned classical singer Portia White and notable politicians Bill White and Jack White. In recognition of his contributions and achievements, White was awarded an honorary doctorate from Acadia University in nineteen thirty-six, becoming the first Black Canadian to receive such an honor.
