William J. Donovan

William J. Donovan, born on January first, eighteen eighty-three, was a multifaceted American figure whose contributions spanned law, military service, and intelligence. He is most renowned for his pivotal role as the head of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II, an organization that laid the groundwork for what would eventually become the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). His leadership in this capacity earned him the title of the founding father of the CIA, a legacy commemorated by a statue in the lobby of the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

A veteran of World War I, Donovan's military accolades are remarkable.
