William Theodore deWit, Q.C., born on June 13, 1961, is a distinguished figure in both the legal and sports arenas. Currently serving as a Justice of the Alberta Court of Appeal in Calgary since 2023, deWit has made significant contributions to the judiciary. His legal career includes a notable tenure as a Judge of the Court of Queen's Bench, a position he was appointed to in 2017.
Before his illustrious legal career, deWit was a celebrated professional boxer. He represented Canada at the 1984 Summer Olympics, where he showcased his exceptional talent in the heavyweight division, ultimately earning a silver medal.
