Currently, he showcases his talents at the Russian Premier League club Zenit Saint Petersburg and represents the Colombia national team.

Hailing from Cartagena, Colombia, Barrios made a significant move to Ibagué, where he embarked on his professional football journey with Deportes Tolima. His tenure at Tolima was marked by a notable achievement in two thousand fourteen when he helped the team secure the Copa Colombia.

In two thousand sixteen, Barrios took a significant step in his career by joining the prestigious Argentine club Boca Juniors. During his time with the Xeneizes, he celebrated triumphs in the Primera División in both two thousand seventeen and two thousand eighteen.
