Wílmar Roldán

Wílmar Roldán, born on January twenty-fourth, nineteen eighty, is a distinguished Colombian football referee known for his significant contributions to the sport. He began his officiating career in the domestic league in two thousand three and achieved FIFA International status in two thousand eight. His expertise and dedication to the game earned him recognition as the World's seventh-best referee in two thousand fifteen by the IFFHS.

Roldán made his mark on the international stage during the Copa América in two thousand eleven, where he officiated two group matches and the third-place match between Venezuela and Peru. His experience continued to grow as he officiated at the two thousand twelve Olympic tournament and the two thousand fourteen FIFA World Cup qualifiers, showcasing his ability to handle high-pressure situations.

However, his performance in the tournament sparked controversy, leading to a formal complaint from the Chilean Football Federation after a match on June thirtieth, two thousand twenty-four. The complaint, which cited questionable refereeing decisions that affected Chile's advancement, has ignited outrage among fans, who have taken to social media to express their discontent. As of July two thousand twenty-four, the complaint remains unresolved.
