Winfried Kretschmann

Winfried Kretschmann, born on May seventeenth, nineteen forty-eight, is a prominent German politician and environmentalist, currently serving as the Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg since May twelfth, twenty eleven. As a member of the Alliance '90/Greens, he made history by becoming the first Green politician to hold this office in any German state. His political journey began in nineteen eighty when he became a member of the Landtag of Baden-Württemberg, representing the Nürtingen constituency.

Kretschmann's leadership was pivotal during the Baden-Württemberg state elections, where he emerged as the frontrunner for his party in two consecutive elections, in two thousand six and again in twenty eleven.
