Wisława Szymborska

Wisława Szymborska, born on July second, nineteen twenty-three, in Prowent, now part of Kórnik in west-central Poland, was a distinguished poet, essayist, translator, and literary critic. She spent her life in Kraków, where her literary journey flourished, leading her to become one of Poland's most celebrated authors.

Her remarkable contributions to literature earned her the Nobel Prize in Literature in nineteen ninety-six.
