Witness Lee

Witness Lee, born in 1905 in Yantai, Shandong, China, emerged as a significant figure in the Christian community, particularly within the local churches in Taiwan and the United States. Raised in a Southern Baptist family, his spiritual journey took a transformative turn in 1925 when he encountered the preaching of evangelist Peace Wang, leading him to embrace Christianity.

Lee's commitment to his faith deepened as he joined the Christian work initiated by Watchman Nee. He became known for his emphasis on the subjective experience and enjoyment of Christ, advocating for a vision of the church that transcended mere organization, focusing instead on the church as the Body of Christ.

In addition to his preaching, Witness Lee was a prolific translator and played a pivotal role in the establishment of Living Stream Ministry, which continues to influence Christian thought and practice. His contributions as a hymnist further enriched the spiritual landscape, making him a revered figure among his followers.
