In the late nineteen seventies, Woyda immigrated to the United States, where he settled in Bronxville, New York. There, he transitioned from his athletic career to work for an Italian packaging company, showcasing his adaptability and resilience.

Woyda's life took a tragic turn when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, a battle he fought for two years before passing away at his Bronxville home at the age of sixty-eight, just five days shy of his sixty-ninth birthday.
