Xavier Becerra

Xavier Becerra, born on January twenty-sixth, nineteen fifty-eight, in Sacramento, California, is a distinguished American attorney and politician. He has made significant contributions to public service, notably serving as the twenty-fifth United States Secretary of Health and Human Services from March twenty twenty-one to January twenty twenty-five. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Becerra previously held the position of Attorney General of California from January twenty seventeen until March twenty twenty-one.

His academic journey began at Stanford University, where he earned both a bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctor degree. Becerra's career in public service commenced in nineteen eighty-six when he worked as an administrative assistant for state senator Art Torres. He then served as a Deputy Attorney General in the California Department of Justice from nineteen eighty-seven to nineteen ninety.

From nineteen ninety to nineteen ninety-two, Becerra was a member of the California State Assembly, marking the beginning of his long-standing political career. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in nineteen ninety-two and later became the chairman of the U.S. House Democratic Caucus from twenty thirteen to twenty seventeen. Currently, he is a candidate for the governorship of California in the upcoming twenty twenty-six election.
