Alvin Nathaniel Joiner, known to the world as Xzibit, was born on September 18, 1974. He is a multifaceted American artist, recognized not only as a rapper but also as an actor, television presenter, and radio personality. Xzibit embarked on his musical journey in 1992, signing with Loud Records, a subsidiary of RCA Records, which led to the release of his debut studio album, At the Speed of Life, in 1996. The album received positive critical acclaim, making a modest entry into the Billboard 200 and featuring the hit single 'Paparazzi,' which reached number eighty-three on the Billboard Hot 100.
Following the success of his debut, Xzibit released his second album, 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz, in 1998, which also garnered favorable reviews and included the popular single 'What U See Is What U Get.' His growing reputation caught the attention of renowned rapper Dr. Dre, who took on the role of executive producer for Xzibit's subsequent albums. He continued to release music with albums like Weapons of Mass Destruction in 2004 and Full Circle in 2006, before taking a brief hiatus from the public eye. He made a comeback in 2012 with his seventh studio album, Napalm, and has since been a member of the hip-hop supergroup Serial Killers.
Beyond music, Xzibit has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry as a television host and actor. He is best known for hosting the reality show Pimp My Ride during the 2000s, which showcased his charismatic personality. In addition to his hosting duties, Xzibit has appeared in various films and television series, including his role as Shyne Johnson in the acclaimed series Empire, and notable films such as Gridiron Gang, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, and Sun Dogs.
