Yana Klochkova

Yana Klochkova, born on August 7, 1982, is a distinguished Ukrainian swimmer renowned for her remarkable achievements in the world of competitive swimming. With a career that boasts five Olympic medals, including four prestigious golds, Klochkova has solidified her status as one of Ukraine's most celebrated athletes. Her contributions to the sport have earned her the titles of Merited Master of Sports in 1998 and Hero of Ukraine in 2004.

Throughout her illustrious career, Klochkova set an impressive fifty Ukrainian records across various swimming disciplines. These records span distances of one hundred, two hundred, and four hundred meters in integrated swimming, as well as freestyle events of two hundred, four hundred, and eight hundred meters. Additionally, she excelled in backstroke and butterfly events, showcasing her versatility and skill in the pool.

At the Olympic Games held in Sydney, Klochkova made history by setting a world record in the four hundred-meter medley and a European record in the two hundred-meter medley.
