Yanick Dupré

Yanick Dupré, born on November twentieth, nineteen seventy-two, was a talented Canadian professional ice hockey left winger. He made his mark in the National Hockey League (NHL) by playing thirty-five games over parts of three seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers. His journey in the sport was marked by both promise and adversity.

Tragically, Yanick's life was cut short at the young age of twenty-four after a courageous sixteen-month battle with leukemia. His determination and spirit during this challenging time left a lasting impact on those around him.

In honor of his memory, the Yanick Dupre Memorial Class Guy Award was established. This prestigious accolade is awarded to the Flyer who exemplifies character, dignity, and respect for the sport, both on and off the ice. Additionally, a similarly named award is presented by the American Hockey League, recognizing players for their community service.
